Many of us may have to work from home for a while longer, so the smart thing to do would be to beef up your WFH setup. But really smart thing to do might be to take the whole show on the road and do what you’ve always wanted to do — live (and work) from the beach. In fact, why not work from one of the best beach islands in the world?
In Boracay, some of the most popular hotels are offering special rates to entice travelers to the newly reopened destination, but a few are specifically geared up for work-from-home dream setups.
Tides Boracay was probably the first to offer packages — and is so far the best-equipped — for WFH nomads. Their Work From Beach promo “allows you to live the dream of living in paradise at one of Boracay’s most stylish beach boutique hotels,” with rates that begin at a reasonable P2,000 per night (per room, with a maximum of two occupants) for a minimum of one week. There are additional discounts for longer stays — for those staying at least two weeks, rates are at P1,800 per night; P1,500 for a minimum of 21 days; and finally, P1,300 per night for guests staying at least a month (30 days).

Tides Boracay has free wi-fi for all guests checked in, but guests may also borrow a Smart LTE-A pocket wi-fi, also for free. The rates do not include meals, but it does include unlimited use of the fitness center and the pool, and a 10% discount on spa services and on food and beverages. There’s also a menu exclusive for Work from Beach guests, with rice bowls that start at P99.
On the higher end, Discovery Shores has also put together Extended Stay for Work and Play packages — starting at P9,999 for a junior suite for stays of 9 to 20 days, the rate drops to P9,499 for bookings longer than 20 days. It is pricier, but the package also includes daily breakfasts, roundtrip airport transfers to Caticlan Airport, weekly complimentary minibar replenishment, along with a couple of other benefits.
Think of it as rent for a nice little apartment and an office at a very good location — and an investment in your mental health. Now isn’t that a bargain?
