When it comes to dining with a view in Singapore, what typically come to mind are towering establishments like Cé La Vi and Stellar at 1-Altitude. Now, Me@OUE joins them on the list of sky-high supper spots. This restaurant and lounge offers diners panoramic views of Marina Bay, thanks to its floor-to-ceiling windows and strategic position on the rooftop of OUE Bayfront.

But Me@OUE’s lofty location is not its only high point. The restaurant’s food is suitably impressive, too – with three distinct (and newly revamped) Japanese, French and Chinese menus, helmed by three different chefs, even the fussiest diners will be spoilt for choice.

We really enjoyed our starter of Maguro Tartare ($28) from the Japanese menu – the rich avocado purée complemented the fresh and creamy tuna perfectly. Other noteworthy appetisers include the Pan-Seared Hokkaido Scallops ($24) from the French menu, and the Crystal Prawns ($24) from the Chinese menu.

For mains, our Saikyo Miso Cod ($68), also from the Japanese menu, proved to be a palate pleaser as well – the slab of fish was perfectly seared, and its flesh yielded to the fork beautifully. Those with a penchant for red meat can head to the French menu for the Pork Belly ($35), or to the Chinese menu for the “Kung Pao” Wagyu Beef ($60), which comes spiked with Szechuan dried chilli.

Still hungry? Round off your meal on a sweet note with any of the restaurant’s dessert offerings. Favorites include the Chocolate Gâteau ($15), served with a scoop of exotic ginger sorbet, and the Cheese Platter ($30), a smorgasbord of five types of gourmet fromage.

Our only gripe? Prices are unfortunately rather steep, and a three-course meal will easily set you back around $200. But while dining here definitely won’t come cheap, we think it’s worth the occasional splurge, especially if you’re celebrating a birthday or anniversary. After all, you’ll get to enjoy two of Singapore’s standout offerings in style – mouthwatering food, coupled with amazing views of Marina Bay.
