Villa Kasadya, Bohol, Philippines

What: This charming resort is just 200m away from Alona Beach, one of the most popular tourist spots in Bohol. However, thanks to its modest size and verdant surrounds, it feels a world away from the maddening crowds. In fact there are only four villas, so make sure to secure a booking well in advance.

The whole Zen vibe is further enhanced by the villas’ rustic interiors and neutral color palette. But despite their traditional Balinese aesthetic, modern comforts abound — each air-conditioned cottage is furnished with a king-sized bed, a capacious settee, a computer, a writing desk and a spacious bathroom with a rain shower.

How much: From US$113 per night during low season (October 1–December 14).

How to get there: The resort is a 30-minute drive from Tagbilaran airport.
