Magic Carpet Shopping In Dubai

The Dubai Shopping Festival may have wrapped up on February 1, but there’s another form of retail therapy available this month — the annual Carpet Oasis (until February 16) held in the Mina Rashid Marina area. Learn about the art and history of making carpets with collectors and craftsmen from around the world. Select bespoke pieces from a wide selection of hand-knotted creations. Admission is free and there are games and activities, so feel free to bring the kids along.

Hot Pot Feasting In Macau

One of the best ways to warm up in winter is to enjoy a fragrant and delicious hot pot meal, in the company of loved ones. Broadway Macau hotel leverages on the cold-weather tradition with Hot Pot Street (until February 29), which gathers eateries from China and around Asia. Participating restaurants — including Lei Ka Choi (Macau), Xin Dau Ji (Hong Kong), Du Hsiao Yueh (Taiwan) and Chi Sasa (Japan) — will offer a selection that features seafood hot pot in rice broth and snow crab and seafood miso hot pot.

Nights Out In Melbourne

As the summer heat dissipates Down Under, opt to spend a weekday night at the annual Queen Victoria Night Market (5pm–10pm, Wednesday nights, until March 11). Discover 130 stalls offering street food, art, homeware and fashion products, as well as live entertainment. Keep your eyes peeled for some of the year’s new joiners — Kuya’s Simply Pinoy (Filipino cuisine), Falafel Arayes (Israeli pita pockets), Tasty Suya (African-style barbecue) and Mork Chocolate (desserts). If you’re intent on lingering well past mealtime, join in a friendly game of volleyball at the pop-up court on Queen Street.;
