“Nothing can stop you from dreaming.”
The Philippine Department of Tourism has unveiled its latest travel campaign, Wake Up in the Philippines, thus both urging and comforting travelers, “As we wait for the day to travel once again, discover the wonders that await you in our 7,641 islands from the comfort of your home. Stay at home, dream, and wake up in the Philippines.”
Beyond the Philippines’ breathtaking beaches, you can discover a wide range of exhilarating adventures, relaxing getaways, and diverse cultures that can sate the wanderlust you must be feeling right now.
But until we can travel again, stay at home, dream, and #WakeUpInPH by planning your next dream vacation to our tropical nation: https://philippines.travel/wakeupinph
The agency released a series of videos — produced prior the COVID-19 pandemic — reminding travelers of the uniquely Filipino experiences and encounters found across the archipelago: “Discover what breathtaking sceneries and memorable activities you can enjoy in the Philippines through these videos and keep dreaming of our destinations until you can make your travel dreams a reality.”
Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, in an exclusive statement to Ink Media, assured those of us missing plane rides, “Air travel is the backbone of the Philippine tourism industry, and together we will move forward in the post-lockdown era, slowly but surely recovering the gains we made. Wanderlust, curiosity, and a sense of adventure will awaken in people once more, and when they take to the skies, the Philippines will provide safe landing and more than 7,641 (the number of islands we have) reasons to keep coming back to our shores.”
