Shanghai state of mind

Into cultural immersion with a contemporary twist? Then check out “Wavelength: Reset” (until Oct 8), an art and fashion design exhibition held at Powerlong Art Museum in Shanghai. Through the looking glass in Melbourne

Follow the White Rabbit to the Australian Centre for the Moving Image’s “Wonderland” (until Oct 7), a showcase that celebrates Lewis Carroll’s Alice and her adventures on television and the silver screen in Melbourne. Since her first portrayal in 1903, she’s been depicted in over 40 films. “Wonderland” charts her many cinematic journeys, alongside the advancements in film technology through the years. Green-lit in Fukuoka

“teamlab: A Forest Where Gods Live” (until Oct 28) is being held for the fourth year running at Mifuneyama Rakuen Park in Takeo (around two hours away from Fukuoka by car). The 173-year-old, 50ha park in Fukuoka, which houses old, sacred trees, a man-made garden, a pond and natural forested terrain, is the canvas for artist collective TeamLab’s latest digital masterpiece. Art collective TeamLab’s design and tech whizzes meld nature — think trees and giant rock formations — with colorful and mesmerizing light projections. When the sun goes down, follow the one-way route — from the entrance toward Takeo Shrine — to take in 17 light exhibits. teamlab.art/e/mifuneyamarakuen2018
