5 survival tips for traveling with kids

Traveling with the little ones doesn't have to be nightmare. All it takes is some careful planning – and a dash of spontaneity

Pack extra.

This way, you wouldn’t have to worry about “supplies” running out. For example, it’s useful to have another shirt within reach should a spill occur.

Bathroom visits.

Take everyone to the bathroom before your flight or ride, and see if a diaper change is in order.

Get vaccinated.

Book an appointment with your doctor in advance. Inform him of your destination and travel plans, so he can give you proper medical advice (and shots, if needed).

Drink up.

Always have bottles of safe drinking water with you. Ensure that the kids drink often to avoid dehydration.

Have fun!

Look for activities the kids will love, and let them choose the ones they’d like to do. Don’t be too strict with your schedule; allow time for fun, spur-of-the-moment stops.
